ANTWERP, Belgium—Rudi Meskin, an acupuncturist in the Antwerp region, saw Wednesday evening's performance of Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at Antwerp's Stadsschouwburg.
Having previously visited China, Meskin was attracted to the show for cultural reasons.
"So far, beautiful," he remarked during the intermission, "this show is connected to tradition, philosophy and history."
"When you are there [in China] you can feel the same in the Forbidden City or certain temples but life is very hard over there, it's hard to survive."
Meskin also enjoyed the variety of the performances in the show, "I liked the part with the drums. It is very beautiful, as well as the gracefulness of the dances," he said.
"The clothes are very well chosen, very nice but still sober."
Eveline and Fenja, a pair of Belgium students described the show as beautiful and different. The pair enjoyed the fan dance and learned about the show from a review in the New York Post.
Isabelle Liesenborg also attended the show with her colleague, Mr. Bertels.

"Beautiful colors. Beautiful combination with the dance and the choreography," said Liesenborg.
"I had never seen this kind of dancing and art before. It's the first time I see classical Chinese dance," said the accountant, "I'm an art lover, I'm happy to have discovered a form of art I didn't know before. Also the projections were really beautiful."
Bertels agreed with his friend, "We both love art. We are happy to be here."
"Exquisite, extraordinary, beautiful. I liked especially the musicians."
After Antwerp, the Divine Performing Arts tour will continue on to Paris, Switzerland, Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
