ANTWERP—Mr. Jan Peumans, Member of Flemish Parliament and Mayor of Riemst was one of many officials to attend Divine Performing Arts presentation of Chinese Spectacular on February 26 at the Stadsschouwburg Theatre in Antwerp, Belgium.
When asked his thoughts on the show, he offered "This was a completely different culture that we have seen before in movies, but now it's in reality. It gives a different kind of cohesion between the audience and the people on stage."
MP and Mayor Peumans continued "But what was very impressive for me was the performance from Tibet. I support the Dalai Lama and [also] the people of Falun Gong who are in prison. The dance with the 3 women in jail [The Risen Lotus Flower], that was very impressive."
In addition to his appreciation for specific dance numbers, he also enjoyed the singing. "The songs are completely different from Western songs and of course I didn't understand the Chinese—but the translations were great. They performed it just perfect."
