ANTWERP—A famous Flemish singer, dancer and television performer who attended Divine Performing Art's Chinese Spectacular in Belgium Tuesday said the show opened up an entirely new culture for him.

"I didn't know anything about Chinese culture before this show," said Filip D'haeze who's been in two pop bands that made the charts in Belgium. "Now I'd like to know more."

"I'm also a dancer, but what I have seen today I had never seen before. This is new to me," said D'haeze.

D'haeze added, "I think the dancers are very disciplined – they seem to be more disciplined than here in Europe. They seem to work for themselves but also for their country. The people on the stage seem to have more power then we have – including the spiritual aspect that seems to be important for them."

He said his favorite performance was the Mongolian Bowl Dance in which young female dancers whirl around the stage with a few delicate tea bowls balanced on their heads. He also enjoyed the performances featuring Chinese drumming.

Tuesday's performance was the opening of the shows in Belgium during the European leg of Divine Performing Arts international tour. The show took place in Antwerp at the Stadsschouwburg theatre.
