SEOUL—Dr. Ahn Cheon, principal of the Seoul National University of Education, watched the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Chinese Spectacular at Kyung Hee University on February 23, 2008. Dr. Ahn said he felt the great influence and power from the show.

"It is of extreme value and meaning that DPA put in a great deal of effort to present the true traditional Chinese culture to the people," said Dr. Ahn. "I am impressed with all programs. [I have seen] other shows hosted by the Chinese authorities and could see a certain attempt in each program from the government. DPA worked hard to discover and present to the people the true face of China. Though the Chinese authorities claim they present the traditional culture, its foundation and approach are totally different from the DPA."

"Some of the bad values and phenomena in China have influenced Korea. The propaganda from the Chinese government come to Korea as well. I believe most Koreans, if seeing today's show for the first time, will be shocked, just like me," added Dr. Ahn, "It will take a lot to restore the lost traditional Chinese culture among the overseas Chinese societies. [DPA is] shouldering tremendous pressure from Beijing and works so hard to give a world class show, it has set a historical milestone."

Dr. Ahn continued, "It's a phenomenon I see in the past decade that cultures in Korea, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese societies have deviated because of the negative influence from China. What they have now is not traditional Chinese culture. This phenomenon will continue. From this particular standpoint, the real China is deteriorating."

"Every Chinese needs to try to restore the real Chinese culture to be able to eradicate the deteriorated culture from the Chinese Communist Party's ruling."
