LONDON—"Really really good, I would definitely recommend it. It gives insight into Chinese culture," said Marva Costen, an accountant by trade who saw the Sunday night performance of Divine Performing Arts' Chinese Spectacular at London's Royal Festival Hall with her daughter.
Marva also enjoyed the piece "Power of Awareness" and was intrigued by the musical performance "Water Fairies", describing the dancers as, "very skilled and tactful." She also felt that the performance made her want to learn more about China.
Marva's daughter, who learns ballet, found the traditional Chinese dance moves, "very acrobatic."
Another audience member, Odele said she believes the Spectacular is, "Top notch and of a high standard. Fitting of the standards of the Royal Festival Hall."
She was enthusiastic about the computer generated backdrop, "Because it's something new and different instead of just dragons. It was bright and vibrant," remarked the civil servant.
She also described the long sleeves, fans and dances as, "Very traditional." Odele thought that Chinese Spectacular , "Worked together well, especially when people came down from the backdrop then appeared on stage."
Odele also felt that the show was fun and lighthearted, and that she would come see it again next year.
