LONDON—Herbert Klingele, an engineer originally from Germany, said the Chinese Spectacular at London's Royal Festival Hall was "very exciting."

It was "very different from what we are usually able to see," said Klingele.

Klingele and his wife currently live in Surrey and bought their tickets at a tourist office for Sunday night's performance. Both commented that they enjoyed the music and were intrigued by the unique style of performance.

"I'm very fond of this dancing," said Mr. Klingele. "I don't know whether you call it a ballet. It was excellent."

"The way they come in, it looks like they are on wheels. Excellently synchronised. Very colourful."

The "Water Fairies" and "The Mongolian Bowl Dance" were the couple's favourite pieces, and they both enjoyed the music. "A good combination, between the Western tone and the Chinese style," said the engineer.

"It is good that somebody shows these old traditions, and that is what you could see in some of the dances." "We are very glad that we came," he said.
