LONDON—Roseta Heshmati, a company director from Wimbledon, attended the Chinese Spectacular at London's Royal Festival Hall with her husband on Sunday—which happened to be Heshmati's birthday.
"The performance met my expectations, it was very well choreographed, I enjoyed the different types of dance and liked the way the presenters did the show," she said.
Ms. Heshmati said that though she didn't have much prior knowledge of Chinese history and culture, she loves Chinese music and found the pieces in the Spectacular very soothing and relaxing.
"I got a sense of some of China's history and current issues. I understood that there are restrictions on the people of China and the evil surrounding them that still exists today," she said.
"For me the dance talked to me, it gave me a sense of their culture. It was through a sensation from the dances and the dance movements that I got a sense of what they wanted to say."
