LONDON—Drama teacher Lynn Wiston praised the expressiveness of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular dancers.

Wiston attended the evening performance at London's Royal Festival Hall on Feb. 23 with a friend.

"We both thought it was stunning, said Wiston. "And it's the first time we've seen the show but we're definitely coming back next year. The costumes, the dancing, the singing, the musical instruments, everything was so polished and wonderful. Really good."

Commenting on the dramatic content, Wiston said she liked it "because it tells a story and it's easier to understand. It's very good that someone explained what was happening, but even without that, you could guess a lot from it because of the emotions they used, because of the movements, and the relationships they had with one another, so it was excellent."

"I loved the drums; I thought the drums were absolutely marvellous. And I loved the elegance of the dancers and their hands, the way their hands told the story, it was just beautiful, really nice."

"And the use of colour as well is fantastic. I loved the fans with the water, the silk they had, the use of their props (daoju), and there were no mistakes at all. Absolutely perfect, — all in unison, wonderful.

Wiston added that she loved the music in the show, how the orchestra blended Chinese and Western styles.

"I only have a little bit of Chinese music at home, but it has inspired me to go away and rethink some of the work I'm doing with the children, and maybe use some Chinese music in there as well."
