LONDON—William Drummond, a post-graduate student from Twickenham, says it was by chance that he learned of the Chinese Spectacular playing at London's Royal Festival Hall.
"I was literally just passing through London – I heard out about it and just thought I would come along", he said, after taking in a sold-out performance Saturday night. "I loved the show."
William explained what spurred his interest in the show.
"I'm interested in the whole thing about China in the context of the world we live in today, especially with the Olympics" he said. "It's always been a culture I've been very interested in but didn't know a lot about really . . . that was the reason I came along to the show."
Did he learn about Chinese culture from the show? "Definitely, absolutely", he confirmed. "I didn't really have any expectations. It was fascinating learning about the culture, about what goes back to the real root of their society.
"I don't know if I could sum it up but I definitely felt more aware of it after watching the show and I got a better awareness of their core beliefs."
Mr Drummond added: "I thought the show was great, really exciting. I'm very glad I witnessed it, I'm very glad I came along; it broke down what I had previously thought", he said.
