LONDON—Performing arts teacher and performer Haley Radford said the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular, currently playing at London's Royal Festival Hall, gave her inspiration that she will take back to the classroom.
Radford said she will be doing a show with her pupils based on Disney's Mulan.
"It's a traditional Chinese story and so I wanted to come and get some inspiration," she said.
"The traditional stories that are told today, that they acted through the dance, are very closely linked to what I hope to perform with my pupils - so it was fantastic."
Radford commented on the quality of the Spectacular.
"I thought tonight's performance was fantastic, really good, vibrant and colourful, diverse. The story was told really well — it was very clear."
Radford had seen a Divine Performing Arts show a few years ago. She said it was interesting to see how the dance company has progressed.
"It's been lovely to see the performance progressed. The show ran very smoothly and was really nicely put together, and the performances were to a very high standard."
She said it was wonderful to bring back the traditional Chinese dances.
"I got the message of peace and understanding from today's show," she said.
