LONDON—A journalist and his wife said that seeing the costumes in the Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular was "like looking at a Ming vase".

Keith Altham and his wife Adelaide came to the Saturday matinee of the show at the Royal Festival Hall, the hub of the performing arts world in England.

He said: "It was wonderful, I loved it. The water fairies were absolutely delightful to watch and the Mongolian dancers were fantastic.

"The drums were extraordinary. The costumes too were exquisite—like looking at a Ming vase."

Investment manager John Thorne, from London, took his son to see the show, who was thrilled by the drums.

Speaking during the intermission, Mr Thorne said: "We are really enjoying it. The drumming was very striking."
