LONDON—A solicitor, a teacher and a 13-year-old girl are among the many to praise the Chinese Spectacular for depicting the beauty of Chinese culture.
Solicitor Josephine Yu attended the opening night performance at the Royal Festival Hall on Friday.
"The performance was brilliant," she said. "I really loved the piano and erhu (Chinese violin)."
She said the costumes were beautiful and the drums "sounded amazing".
"The show made me realise that traditional Chinese culture still exists. I really enjoyed tonight's performance. Very much."
Southend teacher Ying Adams also commended the performances, saying the show was "brilliant".
"Tonight reflected traditional Chinese culture. I've never seen this kind of performance before even though I'm Chinese.
"China has lost a lot of its traditional culture and this show is a reminder of traditional Chinese values and culture," she said.
Thirteen-year-old Jemima Middleton attended the show with her classmates as part of a school trip.
"I thought the show was clever," she said. "I loved the fan dancing and the traditional dancing and the colourful outfits."
"I think everyone needs to see this show, as it's fantastic," she said.
