OSAKA-The New York based Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular wowed the Osaka audience with their two shows on February 19.

Mr. Gao, a graduate student of Kobe University from Shandong Province in eastern China, excitedly told the reporter, "My tears just streamed down the moment the curtain went up. I couldn't help it throughout the first half of the show. Why did that happen? Because a very unusual scene appeared in front of my eyes all of a sudden, and I was completely captured. My tears just naturally came out."

He said he had been living in Japan for seven years, but was always aware of his Chinese origin.

"As a Chinese person, I sometimes don't feel that I have anything to be proud of, said Gao. "But after watching today's show, I've re-discovered my pride in being Chinese."

Gao was very glad that more people will recognize the true traditional Chinese culture through this show. "I hope I can do something to help with that, and we can all work together to introduce true Chinese culture to the world."

Mr. Gao said he had already booked the ticket for the next day's show and would invite other students to come with him.

The Divine Performing Arts completed its first performance in Osaka earlier that day. At the final curtain call, performers got a very warm reception and received a standing ovation from many audience members close to the stage. The audience was very excited, including many ladies dressed in beautiful kimonos. Many said that they would come back to the next day's show.
