THE HAGUE, Netherlands—Mr. Roy Vilmer Jongjan, a sailor in the Netherlands Merchant Marines took his date Moena Sarhane to see the second performance of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at The Hague World Forum Theatre Wednesday evening.

"For us in Holland, this is more real, this is what I like," said Mr. Jongjan, "because I am a sailor, I see all over the world. So I always see the real people, not just what the tourists see. This is the [real] art, in the artistic kind of way."

Ms. Sarhane especially liked the performance 'The Power of Awareness'.

"For me, the meaning is you get more responsible about how you react and live in this world," she said. "The performance touched me on several levels. For me, this is the first time I was impressed, very impressed."

Mr. Jongjan shared a similar view about the piece, "I especially liked the start where people were sitting around in the park, and those policemen came to wreck things and say, 'no, you aren't allowed to say this on the banner.'"

"That's what I like, you know, that those people stand up and say [to the police], 'No, this is not okay what you are doing.' Because they have their own thinking of what they want to say; they don't want other people to think for them," he said.

Mr. Jongjan also found the show educational on Chinese culture: "You get history from how it has been, what they believe in, and about Falun Gong. Not much is known about Chinese culture [here]. If you ask in a restaurant for something Chinese [here], they will think you are a joke."

The pair firmly believe the show would be beneficial to children and adolescents for its values.

"For me, it's important to get this message to the children now. If you can pass this on to them, wow, there's going to be a lot of difference," remarked Ms. Sarhane.

"You see someone who is doing good. You have to follow someone, and this would be a good role model for them. If they have something like a role model or someone who changes in a good way, this would make a lot of difference."
