NAGOYA—On February 17, the Divine Performing Arts completed the second leg of their Asian tour at Nagoya's Meitetsu Hall. The Chinese Spectacular was greeted with bursts of warm applause. The performers and the audience interacted frequently, creating a warm atmosphere. The audience members could not conceal their excitement even after the show.

Director Takehisa Hisano of the Arai News branch of the Chunichi News Co. Ltd., along with two staff members, watched the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular in Nagoya in the evening.

Takehisa said after the show, "All performers are masters of the performing arts, every program reflects hard training." He knows that it is on the Chinese New Year, and this way the New Year is celebrated is quite unique. He said he had a touching and meaningful evening.

Takehisa has business trade with China. He began to study Chinese language 25 years ago and keeps at his study. He often watches Chinese TV series featuring ancient history. When he watched the "Drummers of the Tang Court", he felt as if he had seen this before, since it was very familiar to him. He indicated that he would definitely tell more staff members to come and watch the show, and hopes that the Divine Performing Arts would come to Nagoya again next year.

Learned about the Chinese Spectacular by Divine Performing Arts from a Chinese friend, Toshikuni Suzuki with his wife and daughter attended the show in Nagoya.

After watching the show, Toshikuni said excitedly, "(The performance) has exceeded my imagination. Whether it is the costumes or the performers' postures and movements, the entire show is beyond expression. The 'Drummers of the Tang Court' impressed me deeply. I liked the 'Mongolian Bowl Dance' the most, with three bowls on their heads, it is interesting and beautiful."

"I saw the 'Power of Awareness', and was shocked that the dancing drama shows what is happening in China. I thought the Chinese communist regime had stopped persecuting Falun Gong, but it is not the case. " Toshikuni added.

He said at the end, "I have only visited China twice. I do not really know the historical background of China. This show recaptures China's culture and history. It would be great if it could be shown in China. Regrettably such a show cannot be performed in pubic in China; otherwise, it will definitely win thunderous applause."

Tai Chi Chuan fans Emiko Miyake and four others saw the Chinese Spectacular.

Through learning Chinese Tai Chi Chuan, they became particularly interested in China's culture, history and the lives of Chinese people. They said that the performance of the soldiers in "Loyalty of Yue Fei" displayed strong and positive in male character. Each program reflects the artistic achievement of Chinese classical dance. Both Asians and Westerners can all understand this performance perfectly.

The graceful movements of the performers (in the bowl dance) are especially beautiful. They really liked Beijing Opera before, but today they experienced different Chinese culture.

After completing the Nagoya performance, the Divine Performing Arts has moved to Osaka, the next stop in its Asian tour, where it will perform four shows. Tickets for the final shows at NHK Osaka Hall on the 20th are still available. The ticket hotline is 06-6967-2629.
