OSAKA—Toshihito Yasui of Osaka and his girlfriend Hui Ling from China came to the Spectacular at NHK Osaka Hall on its last show in Japan both said it was very enchanting and very pure.
They sat in the 8th row where they could see clearly the details of dancing, costumes, and background, as they were very amazed by the show's beauty.
"I love "Nymphs of the Sea" so much, it was so beautiful." said Toshihito. "Not only that, I think all of the dancers are high-level one and the performances are very lovely. I've never seen something like this before."
He added that his girlfriend Hui Ling is from China and that he learned a little about Chinese culture through her. Hui Ling said, "It was such a pleasure for me to see the traditional culture from my country being displayed beautifully to the Japanese society. I am so proud to be Chinese."
Hui Ling looked very happy as she added, that the Spectacular was more than she expected. "I never thought Spectacular could bring our traditional Chinese culture into something beyond imagination. It was really, really lovely."
Toshihito said, "I like the two aspects from the show, for example, the powerful performance of drumming performed by men, it's so cool and very masculine. In the other hand, most of the dancing performed by women is very silent, calm, gentle and feminine."
Hui Ling who sat beside him agreed as she said, "I can feel not only the beauty of the dancing, but also the beauty of those dancers' heart. It was reflected on the stage, and I felt like I was taken away to another world of God and maidens."
Both of them saw the advertisement of Chinese Spectacular when they were in Kobe. Hui Ling was very excited when she first saw the word "Shen Yun," or divine performing arts, on the flier and decided to come to the show with Toshihito.
They both said the show was "cool" and would definitely come again next year.
