OSAKA—Junji Tanaka, a drug store owner in Osaka was very happy when he got the chance to watch the Spectacular with his wife on its final day in Japan.
"I came with my wife to see the show after seeing its advertisement in a newspaper," he said with a smile on his face, "And I am very happy."
Mr. Tanaka enjoyed 'Drummers of the Tang Court' very much. "Japanese people would always like drums. The 'Drummers of the Tang Court' performance I saw just now was very powerful and full of movements. It was very exciting."
He added that Chinese drums and Japanese drums are very different.
"Japanese drumming uses songs and we play the drums in accordance with the melody. But the Chinese drumming here is very unique as they combined the melody, movements and the powerful way of drumming."
When asked what he thought about Chinese culture, Mr. Tanaka replied that "China has strong belief in Gods, and I think Japan has learned from China."
"Chinese people from old generations always respect their parents and ancestors. They think that is a very important thing. It's a good thing to learn from," he said.
Mr. Tanaka's wife also had great respect for traditional Chinese culture, "I wanted to see the show because I really love the expression of God and spirituality in Chinese culture."
They plan to see the show next year, "I'm going to see the show again next year. It's a good inspiration for my wife and I," Mr. Tanaka said.
