THE HAGUE—Don Korpel lives in Rotterdam and works in social service in The Hague. He regretted waiting to buy his tickets to the Chinese Spectacular at the World Forum Theater until the best seats were gone.
"It's a pity my seat is so far away from the stage,´ Korpel explained. "I heard about the show quite late and the best seats were sold already. If the show comes back next year I'll definitely come to watch it again and I'll book my seat earlier, so that I can be closer to the stage."
"I thought the show was really beautiful—colorful and well balanced," Korpel said. "The costumes were magnificent."
"My favorite act was the one with the long white sleeves, the Tibetan dance," Korpel continued, "and I also liked the last act, with the drums [Victory Drums], very much."
Mr. Korpel also stressed the deeper aspects of the show. "The show clearly carries very spiritual values, respect for life."
Retiree Miss Verschraegen also attended the opening night. She said "It's a great show. The colors and the backgrounds are wonderful. The act I liked most is 'The Risen Lotus Flower', it was very touching.
"The music is really beautiful," Miss Verschraegen said. "I didn't expect that I would like the music with Chinese instruments so much."
