THE HAGUE, Netherlands—Vaidotas Verba, Lithuanian Ambassador to the Netherlands, attended the Divine Performing Arts Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular at the World Forum Theater Tuesday evening. "Very unusual, very special," he said. "I've never seen anything like this. I'm very happy to be here." What was his favorite part of the show? "I can't remember exactly the names. But the first one was really good."

He added, "The variety of very nice costumes and very nice music … The drummers were nice. Yeah, and everything was really impressive."

"Frankly speaking, I was not very familiar with ancient Chinese culture," said Mr. Verba, "but it looks like the show itself follows the traditions, and it really adds something extra to what I already knew."

Would he recommend the show to anyone else? "Well, actually, I'm going to tell everybody that I attended the show," he replied enthusiastically. "And, at least, the next time I see similar advertising I will be able to tell everybody that it's worth going to."

Ms. Lina Tum of Latvia also commented on this evening's show. "It was very nice. It was something unexpected, and a very touching story. I liked it," she said. "I liked several girls' dances."

When asked about her favorite part of the show, Ms. Tum, who works at the Latvian Embassy in The Hague, responded, "I think, Water Fairies was the most… oh, it was emotional!"

In regard to the show providing a glimpse into Chinese cultural values, she had this to say: "Could be, could be. It's very hard for me to judge because I'm not very familiar with traditional Chinese culture, but I liked it. It was emotional."

Would she recommend the show? "Just to my friends," she said, and then added, "If I were visiting somewhere nearby, if I saw the advertisements, then I certainly would be glad to see it again."

However, she looks forward to the possibility of a show being held in Latvia and thought that idea would be "very good!"

Performed by Divine Performing Arts on Tour, the Shen Yun Chinese Spectacular will play one more show in The Hague before continuing on to London. For other shows in the Divine Performing Arts world tour, please visit: www.shenyun.eu
