THE HAGUE—Belgium's ambassador to the Netherlands, Walter Lion, saw the opening night of Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at the World Forum Theater in The Hague, Netherlands.

"It's a beautiful introduction to a culture that I don't know very well and it was brought in a splendid way," he said. "The choreography and the dancers, the dynamism and the youth, it was all very impressive. The music was very beautiful and the mixture of Western and old Chinese instruments was well done—it was well adapted to the Western audience."

Ambassador Lion said he was pleased by the two Mongolian sequences, one evoking horsemen riding the plains called "Herding on the Mongolian Plains" and one called "Mongolian Bowl Dance," and liked the mixtures of content and costume in the show. "I liked the costumes very much—they were really beautiful. I like the variation in the show with the aspects from many regions and periods.

"In this show there are … some acts with lots of artists on the stage, but there's a balance between the individual and the group, the individual is not getting lost in the size of the group.

"I hope that tomorrow and the shows in London and Antwerp will be a big success!"
