TOKYO—Miss Luo came to Japan from China 20 years ago. After enjoying the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular on Feb 13, she was very much looking forward to meeting her fellow alumnus from the China Conservatory, Divine Performing Arts tenor Guan Guimin. However, because Guan Guimin is currently in Europe with the Divine Performing Arts on Tour, Miss Luo will have to wait a little longer to meet him again.

Miss Luo was an actress at Chongqing City opera house. She mainly sung folk songs and has more than ten years of professional experience singing in the opera. She took advanced studies in the China Conservatory and Guan Guimin, also at the China Conservatory of Music, once performed together with Miss Luo. She said although the two didn't know each other very well, she had always admired Guan Guimin for being such a tremendous singer.

A few days before the Spectacular , Miss Luo came across a Divine Performing Arts promotional flyer on the streets of Tokyo. She saw Guan Guimin's introduction in the flyer and decided to buy center second row seats, the best in the house, with her two friends. She also took a photo of Guan Guimin and his wife and wanted to honor her deceased friend with the photo. Feeling it was a pity that she didn't get to see Guan Guimin (whom she hasn't seen in 20 years), she can only rely on The Epoch Times to send her friend holiday wishes from far away.

Miss Luo said after she left China she heard that Guimin Guan's health deteriorated, and that he had hepatitis. After he started to practice Falun Gong his health improved greatly. She was very happy for him. She also said, "I feel that Falun Gong is freedom. It was great for his health, so it's very good."

Although she didn't get to see Guan Guimin, she still had high praises for the excellent performance, especially those of the singers.

Miss Huo said, "Hong Ming sung very well. From a professional standpoint, the sound he achieves is very rare. His tone is very pretty. Especially his high sounds, they are ideal, and he does it at will." She also applauded female singer Huang Biru's voice.

Miss Luo expressed that using the format of performing arts to celebrate a traditional Chinese holiday and to spread the traditional culture of the Chinese people is very good. She said that she is already looking forward to when the Divine Performing Arts show comes to Japan next year, and she hopes to see Guan Guimin in Japan as well.

The two friends who accompanied Miss Luo to the Spectacular, a university professor and an office worker, echoed each other in praise of the show. They said that it was great, very well done, and they will also come to see it next year.
