FRANKFURT—The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular played the first of three shows at Frankfurt’s Century Hall (Jahrhunderthalle) on Saturday, enchanting audience members with its portrayal of Chinese culture.

“I loved the artists, but the screen was just amazing,” said Tanja Haberlach, an engineer from Frankfurt who attended the Spectacular with her husband, Lars.

“The drummers — their rhythm was amazing,” added Tanja.

“I loved the colours,” said Lars, an engineer. “The water scene [Water Nymphs] was the most beautiful, as were the mountains with the rainbow.”

Lars said the Spectacular brought Chinese culture closer to him. “I’d never learned about Chinese culture before, it’s so far away.”

“The hosts were very interesting … It was particularly interesting to see a show without Germans in the cast,” he added.

They have three children and said they’d heard many interesting stories about China from Tanja’s mother who spent a month there.

The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular will play two more shows in Frankfurt tomorrow at 2pm and 7pm before continuing its tour in Europe. For more information, please visit www.BestChineseShows.com
