TOKYO—Since the opening show of Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular at Kousei Nenkin Kalkan Hall in Tokyo on Tuesday, it has continually attracted theatre-goers with the excellent reviews it has received.

Xie Wei, the Chairman of Tokyo Chinese Language Center in Akihabara enjoyed the Wednesday evening performance in the company of his wife and friends.

"Very good, beautiful. This evening show has elegantly expressed Chinese culture from ancient times to the present. It has well annotated this five thousand-year culture," said Xie during the intermission.

Xie left Taiwan more than 20 years ago and is now teaching Chinese in Tokyo. His goal is to popularize the learning of the Chinese language in Japan. According to him, there are more people of Japanese decent learning Chinese than of Chinese decent.

Xie spoke enthusiastically of the quality of the performance. "The entire show is just very good, too good," he said.

"I am grateful to friends who told me about this show, it is fortunate that they asked me to come. This is the first time that I have seen such a good show — it is a great way of spreading a great culture."

The Spectacular will travel next to Nagoya and Osaka before continuing on to Taiwan later in the month.
