TOKYO-Tall and elegant, Sun Youting, one of China's first fashion models, stands out even among the thousands of audience members at Tokyo's Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular. She told the reporter the show amazed her. "This show makes me feel so proud as a Chinese!"
Sun has lived in Japan for over 20 year and is now the host of a TV cooking program. On Feb. 13, a Japanese friend invited her to the Wel City Tokyo Music Hall to watch the show. Excited, Sun told the reporter the show was fantastic, and that she was really happy to have this opportunity to see authentic traditional Chinese arts again.
When Sun heard that the artists in the show were mostly ethnic Chinese born abroad, she said in amazement, "How did they gather so many extraordinary Chinese dancers?" She said the dancers must be very well trained, especially the leading dancers who were really excellent. She also loved the beautiful colors of the costumes.
Sun said programs like the Chinese Spectacular are particularly good for Chinese children born abroad, because they can learn about their own origin and culture. "Now people associate China with things like poisonous foods," said Sun, "and the true greatness of China's 5,000-year history has been forgotten. I'm still a Chinese though I've been in Japan for 20 years. After watching the show, I feel so proud as a Chinese."
"I'll definitely come back next year," said Sun. "Many of my friends are well-known artists of my time, and I'll recommend the Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular to all of them."
The Chinese Spectacular will run on February 15 in Tokyo, Japan, before departing for Nagoya. For other shows in the Divine Performing Arts world tour, please visit: http://www.DivinePerformingArts.org . The Epoch Times is a proud sponsor of the Chinese Spectacular.
