NEW YORK—The Divine Performing Arts' Chinese New Year Splendor now playing at the famed Radio City Music Hall in New York City attracted a diverse and enthusiastic audience on its second day of performances.

Anthony Gallagher, an actor and businessman who lives in New York, thought the show was great. He has been to China and seen other Chinese shows, but he thought the New Year Splendor displayed a different kind of pageantry than he was expecting so he was pleasantly surprised.

The traditional two-stringed instrument, the erhu, particularly impressed him—he thought the musician who played it showed great skill.

"The woman that was playing the erhu … she made that thing cry, man. It was beautiful, I really liked it," Mr. Gallagher said.

New Yorker Manny, who works on Long Island, had high praise for the performance. "Beautiful …very colorful …I love it!" were some of his comments. His wife is Chinese, and he has been to China. He also expressed the feeling that this show was very different from other Chinese shows he had seen.

New York Actress Connie Wu said that it was hard to find such good performances. The spiritual aspect of the show was especially interesting to her. She pointed out the messages of "… some divine place and peace after this life, of Buddhism, and Falun Gong …." She called the show "very timely." She also complimented the performers on being very attractive.
