SAN FRANCISCO—The final showing of the Chinese New Year Spectacular in San Francisco concluded successfully. How did people find out about the show?

Sunny Arnold, a psychologist that lives in the Bay Area, told us that he came to the show after his family members, Penny and Jim Wagner, invited him to come. Penny and Jim came all the way from Los Angeles to watch the show with him.

Arnold commented about the show, "It gave me a wonderful sense of Chinese culture, and it has been just very enjoyable, the dancers are remarkable, the costumes and the presentation have been amazing. I really enjoyed it!"

Penny Wagner is a kindergarten teacher from Los Angeles. She had a similar impression about the Spectacular , stating that "it was magical; every aspect of it is just beautiful."

Her husband Jim is in real estate and said, "My wife takes me to theaters all over the world. She saw this show online down in Los Angeles and bought tickets for it, and we came to visit our family and see the show with them."

All of them agreed that Penny made a good choice and that she found a wonderful show which was well worth it. Howard Nuk, a young designer from the South Bay also came to the show because his family highly recommended it. His parents, who live in Ottawa, Canada, saw the Spectacular and liked it so much they bought tickets for him.

Nuk said, "The show was great, I really liked it. I came to see the show because of my ethnic background, I am half Chinese. The colors were beautiful and the choreography was amazing. I really liked the emotional side of it."

His favorite performances were the Mongolian Bowl Dance and of course the drums.

"I liked the drums because of the feeling I had in the chest when they were playing, and how they were able to play the drums and beat at the same time they played; it looked like they were not even touching the drums, it was amazing."

Nuk said he appreciated learning more about his roots and that he had seen another part of his culture.

After seven successful showings of the Chinese New Year Spectacular in San Francisco, the Divine Performing Arts group now travels to New York where they can be seen at Radio City Music Hall for 15 performances starting on Jan. 30.
