CHICAGO—"Superb! Superb!" exclaimed Indian Tribune editor and publisher, Prashant Shah after witnessing the beauty and splendor of the Chinese New Year Spectacular. Saturday evening, the Spectacular presented the beauty of 5000 years of Chinese culture to an enthralled audience at the Chicago Arie Theater.
"I was under the impression that Indian dances are the best," Shah added, but felt after seeing the show that "Chinese are the best!" Shah was particularly impressed with the professional dancing and choreography.
When asked if he could sum up his experience watching the Spectacular, he said "There is no comparison! No comparison! I have been to so many places, but I have never seen a program like this."
The Indian Tribune was one of the generous sponsors of the 2008 Spectacular in Chicago. Many Indian Tribune employees had the opportunity to experience the show's wonder. Associate editor, Pallavi Ringwaki had never been to a Chinese New Year show before, and commented that the show was "beautiful" and "flawless."
The New York-based Divine Performing Arts Company began its performances in 2004, and has since expanded the tour to over five continents. This year's global tour will debut in over 60 cities, reaching a total live audience of about 650,000. The Divine Performing Arts will next travel to New York's Radio City Hall, where they will have fifteen shows between the dates of January 30 and February 9.
