CHICAGO-A group of 20 senior citizens from the Highland Park Senior Center came to watch the Chinese New Year Spectacular's matinee performance in Chicago on Saturday.

"We are enjoying it tremendously," said Marla Schachtel program coordinator at Highland Park. "The costumes are exquisite, the dancing is unbelievable and the talent can't be compared to anything we ever seen. We are just overwhelmed."

"We have never seen anything like this before. We are fans of dance and we have never seen anything like this before. Their creativity is beautiful and the quality is the best I have ever seen," she added.

"It is totally magnificent," added Schachtel's mother, Mimi Mills, who was with her at the show.

Schachtel said she was shown a video clip of the show and couldn't resist arranging a trip for the seniors at her center.

"Just to see something so different from American dance is just beautiful," she said.

Other senior groups agreed. One group was from the Patty Turner Senior Center in Deerfield.

"The costumes are extraordinary and choreography is just wonderful," said Dorothy Collins senior citizen at Patty Turner's. "We came with a group of 25 today to see the matinee."
