Retired businessman Ye Yiqin, who emigrated from Mainland China many years ago, watched the first performance of the Chinese New Year Spectacular in San Francisco on January 23. He could not stop praising it. He said, "I will watch it another three times, and call all my relatives and friends to come!" Mr. Ye said excitedly, "I admire these artists, I love them so much. They did a great thing, truly remarkable. They have inherited the 5,000 years of Chinese history".
"The programs were so excellent. I truly appreciate the Divine Performing Arts company and admire them. They are so remarkable, I really love them!" Ye said, "I went to Taiwan when I was 16. After I began to do business, I frequently visited Mainland China. Other people like to see the high-rise buildings, but I went to the bottom of society on purpose. I was in tears when I saw the poverty of the people. Now the official circle in Mainland China is so corrupt that the people can hardly make a living, let alone have a culture or morality. It is impossible to have such a good show there."
Regarding the Falun Gong related programs, Mr. Ye believes that though some people accept it, some may not, revealing the truth in the programs is really good. He admires the choreographer's efforts.
He thinks that the program of Yue Fei manifests traditional Chinese morality and makes one understand Chinese tradition easily. Second and third generation Chinese born overseas, after watching the show, can say: "Oh we have such a history."
"Today, all five people in my family had come. I will watch it another three times, and call all my relatives and friends to come," Mr. Ye added.
Ye also indicated that he could understand the messages; he understood them all. "The global tour of the Divine Performing Arts company is so great; it is doing a great deed for the Chinese people, really great," he said.
I can understand this show: "I came out of Mainland China, and later often went back to visit. I know the current situation there. When Chinese society has reached such a moment, the Divine Performing Arts company is presenting the quintessence of 5,000 years of the Chinese nation to the world. When Falun Gong is being treated so unfairly, and yet the Divine Performing Arts artists can perform such a show to the world, it proves that they have indeed given much thought to the matter!"
