LAS VEGAS—Delighting Las Vegas audiences, the Chinese New Year Spectacular played a one-night engagement at the Hilton Hotel Theater, showcasing the grace and beauty of 5,000 years of Chinese culture.

The virtues of kindness, propriety, and respect for nature were expressed in the traditional music and dance, and in the backdrop and costumes.

Among those in attendance was James Ohrenschall, Assemblyman for the Nevada Legislature, who was most moved by the piece about the Falun Gong practitioner, saying: "I liked it quite a bit."

Assemblyman Ohrenschall had become aware of the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China in his professional work and had a great deal of compassion for the situation and is involved in their cause.

Accompanying Assemblyman Ohrenschall was Carolyn Link, who works for Las Vegas Water Filtration. She said: "The costumes were really amazing," observing the great detail that went into each costume.

She appreciated the tremendous effort that this took. "Like someone serving you tea," she concluded, "with great care to detail."
