Concluding the long holiday weekend in Las Vegas, enthusiastic crowds filled the Hilton Hotel Theater for the one-night-only showing of the Chinese New Year Spectacular. The Spectacular, with a live orchestra, conveyed the pure beauty and elegance of authentic Chinese arts.
Cliff Larson, who saw the show in Washington, D.C. last year, was eager to bring his friend, Dianna Chung, a folk dancer from Taiwan, to the show this year, knowing how much she would appreciate it.
He was right. Chung and her folk dancer friend, Joyce Wang, loved the show.
"So graceful, something we were never able to see before," said Chung, inferring that the Chinese communist regime has prevented people from seeing such traditional Chinese culture. She wants everyone to know about the show for next year, and chuckled at the suggestion that she be in charge of advertising.
The Chinese New Year Spectacular will be heading to San Francisco from Jan. 23–26 after its showing in Las Vegas.
