LOS ANGELES—"It's As if it brings me back to ancient China," a 90-year-old local Chinese said after watching the third Chinese New Year Spectacular show in Los Angeles's Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, on Jan. 19. Local Chinese activist Mr. Guo Shuren came to watch the show with his 90-year-old mother. They both commented that the show is very spiritual, and the coordination is very good. "It is a world-class performance," said Guo.
Guo continued, "I started to watch stage performance since I was young, but nothing compares to this. This is the best show I have even seen."
Guo was surprised that the whole show delivers its message in a seamless, artistic way. He thought it was very soft, with no preaching, and was the best way to pass the message to society.
Guo was particularly impressed by the dance "The Power of Awareness," which tells how police abuse of Falun Gong practitioners in China arouses indignation in the people, who rise as one to defend the practitioners—a mother and her daughter who are telling people the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong.
Guo's mother was very excited to talk to the reporter, saying, "the show is very meaningful, nowadays young people do not understand traditional Chinese culture. The show educated them well."
"I have not seen such a good performance in the past dozens of years, nothing compares to it even when I was young. I feel like I am back to ancient times," said Guo's mother.
