LAS VEGAS—The Chinese New Year Spectacular , depicting 5000 years of authentic Chinese arts, myths and legends, captivated the Vegas audience at the one night only performance at the Hilton Hotel Theater at the conclusion of the long Martin Luther King Weekend on Jan 21.
"Show is really beautiful, great cultural experience for this town," expressed Nathan Garcia a local fiction writer who came with his mother.
"Dancers are graceful and the costumes are colorful," but out of all the performances, what most caught the attention of the science fiction writer was Water Sleeves which was "his favorite." He also appreciated the surprising western style orchestra.
The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular shows will continue in Detroit at the Detroit Opera House on Jan. 22, Northrop Memorial Auditorium in Minneapolis on Jan. 24, Arie Crown Theater in Chicago Jan.25-26, and also in San Francisco's Orpheum Theater for seven shows Jan. 23-26.
