LOS ANGELES—Among those who filled the new Nokia Theatre on Jan. 20 for a Sunday Matinee of the Chinese New Year Spectacular, were groups of friends, VIPs, and many families.

One family in particular, from Anaheim Hills, represents three generations, who had been eager to attend the Spectacular because of their strong family connections to Chinese culture. The eldest, Yuen Huey, 80, and her daughter, Muy, were both born in China, and migrated to the United States. by way of Cambodia. Kathleen, 10, was born in the Unites States.

They all were excited to see the show as Kathleen has deep fascination with every aspect of Chinese culture, especially Chinese dance which she had studied in school. She has also studied Mandarin for one year.

Muy who works with the support team of a Biotech firm, is thrilled that the Spectacular is such a great educational tool. The family is definitely looking forward to future Spectacular performances.

The Spectacular will show next in Las Vegas on Jan. 21, then to Detroit on Jan. 22, and San Francisco from Jan. 23–26.
