The final performance of the Chinese New Year Spectacular took place at Toronto's Sony Centre for the performing Arts last night, earning new fans and keeping old ones.
"It was very good." said Beverly James who brought her 86-year-old mother to the show.
"It's very visual. It's very stimulating. It's very very nice. And it's different. It's not the usual thing. I enjoyed it immensely."
James described herself as a fan of Chinese culture and said she loved the costumes and music in the show.
"When I saw it in the paper, I knew she [her mother] would like it and I liked it too."
Her mother, Miriam Leroux, said the pair were in China last year so it was interesting to see something of China's culture.
"I enjoyed it. The costumes, and the girls were very graceful. I really enjoyed it. It was nice," said Leroux.
"The different scenes, it was like in vignettes. The different scenes with different stories. I didn't expect that, but it was nice. I really thought it was very nice."
Leroux said she enjoyed the uniqueness of the show and the stories within it.
John Clark, who works in publishing, said this was his third year to see the Spectacular.
"There's always something that's a little bit different and there's always something that's a little bit the same. The music is good, the costumes are good, the dances are good."
Clark said he was enjoying coming to the show each year and always found it entertaining.
