LOS ANGELES—The Chinese New Year Spectacular debuted in Los Angeles the evening of Jan. 18 at the new Nokia L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
Chris Cagle is the Councilmember for District 2 of Redondo Beach, California. He attended the first night's performance in Los Angeles in part because Redondo Beach has a sister city in China, Zhangjigang, located 65 miles south of Shanghai.
Cagle and his wife Diane went to China on a two-week diplomatic trip and visited the terra cotta warriors and many tourist spots but also had a chance to see the schools. Diane has many Chinese outfits.
Cagle said, "I enjoyed the Mongolian bowl dance and I thought the costumes and backdrops were very elaborate." He added, "This was very educational."
There are three more Divine Performing Arts shows at Nokia Theater LA Live, two on Saturday Jan. 19 and one on Sunday, Jan. 20.
The Chinese Spectacular shows will appear next in Las Vegas on Jan. 21 and then at San Francisco's Orpheum Theater for seven shows starting on Jan. 23 at 2:00 p.m.
The Epoch Times is a proud sponsor of the Divine Performing Arts shows that will perform in over 60 cities worldwide in 2008. To find a show near you, please visit www.bestchineseshows.com.
