LOS ANGELES—The Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular multimedia production, performed on Nokia's largest stage in the country, opened this weekend in downtown Las Angeles starting off the long Martin Luther King Jr. weekend.

Among those in attendance was Van, a publisher with a media group who brought six of his employees to the show. By the intermission, he knew that he needed to bring his young daughter as well.

Sarah Colberson, from Long Beach, CA. was most moved by a performance depicting a woman persecuted in China for practicing Falun Dafa.

Delighted and impressed by the performance, they were both eager to see the second half.

There are three more Divine Performing Arts shows at Nokia Theater LA Live, two on Saturday Jan. 19, and one on Sunday, Jan. 20.

The Chinese Spectacular shows will continue at the Las Vegas Hilton for one performance on Jan. 21 at 8:00 p.m. and then on to San Francisco's Orpheum Theater for seven shows starting on Jan. 23 at 2:00 p.m.
