LOS ANGELES—Ancient Divine Culture was conveyed in the production of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular on Friday Jan. 18. It was enjoyed by a wide cross section of people at the newly opened Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

David, from Hollywood, who works in public relations, said he felt "embodied by the rhythm of the drums" in the Tang Drummers' piece.

His friend Tiffany, from San Diego, on the other hand, was most struck by the beauty of the costumes in the performance 'Water Sleeves.'

"It is a pageantry of color that pops out against the backdrop," she explained. "The way it is combined with the music is amazing."

Perhaps Sarah, a model from Los Angeles, summed it up best as she noted the difference that she observed between a western production and an Asian show.

"This show was more about the music affecting emotions and about beauty."

There are three more Divine Performing Arts shows at Nokia Theater LA Live, two on Saturday Jan 19, and one on Sunday, Jan. 20.

The Chinese Spectacular shows will continue at the Las Vegas Hilton for one performance on Jan. 21 at 8:00 p.m. and then onto San Francisco's Orpheum Theater for seven shows starting on Jan. 23 at 2:00 p.m.

The Epoch Times is a proud sponsor of the Divine Performing Arts shows that will perform in over 60 cities worldwide in 2008. To find a show near you, please visit www.bestchineseshows.com.
