DENVER—The Divine Performing Arts was enthusiastically received as they showcased the exhilaration and beauty of traditional Chinese culture at their first-ever performance in the Mile High City. The audience was clearly moved by the Chinese New Year Spectacular, a multi-million dollar, global touring production of the Divine Performing Arts company.

Nancy Todd, Colorado state representative, and her husband Terry Todd, a retired physical education teacher from Aurora, Colorado were among the first audience to see the show in Denver.

"It was absolutely fabulous," Representative Todd said after the show. "It is so important for Chinese youth to remember the culture and to keep that alive. It is really important—the language, the culture, the dance, the music—all of it," she said.

Terry Todd added, "I love it ... it's great. It's definitely a great Friday night out, and we're really fortunate to have them come to Denver."

Many commented on a special feeling after experiencing the Divine Performing Arts Company's performance.

Tamara Banks, a local radio and television personality in Denver, was beaming after the show. "It's beautiful. It really is spectacular ... so colorful ... the energy is just so positive," she said.

Liam Denevan, a blacksmith who traveled from Taos, New Mexico, to experience the show said, "I got a little emotional [from watching the show]." "I would highly recommend it. I wished I could have brought my family," he concluded.

The Divine Performing Arts Company's Chinese New Year Spectacular will perform two additional Denver shows on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. before moving on to Phoenix, Arizona as well as other western U.S. cities.
