TORONTO—Organizers at the Toronto Centre for the Arts are busy with final preparations for tonight's Mid-Autumn Spectacular, the first of two special shows in Toronto marking the traditional Asian holiday that is also referred to as the Moon Festival.

Dancers and singers with the Divine Performing Arts of New York arrived in Toronto last night and were rehearsing at the centre today. Earlier this year, the troupe put on more than 80 shows at many top venues in 30 cities worldwide as part of the Chinese New Year Spectacular hosted by New Tang Dynasty Television.

This special Mid-Autumn show is being held exclusively in Toronto, and is hosted by the Falun Dafa Association of Canada.

There will be a second show Friday night after the opening this evening. Both begin at 8 p.m.

Though it was only four weeks ago that the event was first announced, organizers today said both shows were poised to sell out. A few tickets were still available at the time of this article.

"The response has been unbelievable," said organizer Joe Xiong. "The people of Toronto have come to know that Divine Performing Arts consistently delivers a beautiful show, full of the wonder of China's ancient culture. Ticket sales have been amazing."

If you're interested in attending the show, you can get tickets from Ticketmaster by calling 416-872-1111, online at ticketmaster.ca, or at the Toronto Centre for the Arts box office at 5040 Yonge St.

The show promises authentic Chinese arts and a glimpse into the wonder of China's 5000 years' culture. For more info, refer to the show's the official description:
