NEW YORK—On July 6, New Tang Dynasty Television's (NTDTV) International Chinese Classical Dance Competition opened its curtain at New York University Skirball Arts Performing Center. The competition attracted more than 100 contestants from the United States, Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Korea, and other countries.

Cao Yi, vice chairman of the contest judging committee and Chinese traditional dance artist, said that NTDTV is holding a grand gathering and has created a platform for dancers around the world. The competition is a great opportunity for dancers to demonstrate their skills and share their understandings on Chinese traditional dance.

The preliminary competition was held on July 6, with 36 contestants selected for the second round. On July 7, 22 dancers from the second round were selected to enter the finals on July 8.
