Feitian Academy of the Arts Receives Hilde Gerst Memorial Scholarship

NEW YORK—On July 8, The Hilde Gerst Foundation attended the NTDTV International Chinese Classical Dance Competition and gave an award to the Feitian Academy of the Arts for its unique artists and special contribution to the new renaissance of traditional culture and arts.

At the Classical Dance Competition the Feitian Academy students received a total of six awards, including first prizes for adult female and junior male dancers, second prize for junior female, third prizes for both junior male and female and one honorable mention for junior male division.

Accepting the award from the Hilde Gerst Foundation, Professor Tiejun Zhang from Feitian Academy said, "We are here to promote the pure essence of the Chinese traditional culture with its five thousand years of history. The spirit of this culture is so pure and graceful. The beauty of every art form taught at the Feitan Academy embodies and conveys the message of compassion."

The Hilde Gerst Memorial Scholarship was established in New York, and its mission is to help potential young artists to develop and become world class artists. The foundation member Mr Brown said that all the foundation members agreed Feitian Academy has unique artists among the art schools in New York State.

Feitian Academy focuses on the renaissance of traditional culture and arts, while emphasizing the student's moral education, as well as their knowledge, sensibility and creativity. The students have a chance to learn traditional visual arts, music, the highest standard Chinese classical dance, and also are given opportunities to perform around the globe.
