SANTIAGO—A Chilean Supreme Court judge ordered former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori to be placed under house arrest Friday amid fears he may try to flee Chile to avoid extradition to Peru, judicial sources said.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the sources said judge Urbano Marin had heeded a request from the Peruvian state to have the former president placed in custody.
