Charles Lee, 16 months after returning home from a Chinese prison, finally married his fiancée Yeong-Ching Foo, in San Francisco on May 28. Lee, a U.S. citizen was imprisoned, tortured and suffered many abuses in a Chinese prison for three years. Lee was arrested after arriving in China and charged with "intending to sabotage cable TV in China." Foo tirelessly campaigned to "Free Dr. Charles Lee" during his captivity.
The wedding took place at Koi Palace in San Francisco. Lee's father and brother from China, Foo's parents, sisters, and relatives from Malaysia, the Supervisor of San Francisco Chris Daly, Founder of Freedom Force International, Edward Griffin, Amnesty International representative Jeffrey Shurtleff, Roger Canfield, a well respected political analyst and public information officer, and many Falun Gong practitioners from the Bay area all attended and celebrated the wedding.

A Dream Come True
Lee said that in stark contrast to the prison time where he suffered psychologically and physically virtually every single moment, his wedding day was like a dream come true. He credits his strong faith in the goodness of Falun Gong in helping him through his ordeal. Lee said Falun Gong helped him stay true to his beliefs in truth, compassion and tolerance.
Lee thinks this cruel and obscene persecution towards Falun Gong practitioners is going to be revealed fully to the world's people and it will shock the world. The ever increasing wave of 22 million Chinese people quitting the communist Party has paved the way for the truth to come out and the CCP's days are finally ending.
Lee is thankful for Yeong-Ching for what she has done for him. It is his long cherished wish to grow old together with Yeong-Ching.
Lee also thanked all those who have cared about and participated in rescuing him. The couple chose the Bay area for their wedding as a way to show their appreciation to the many local people, government officials, as well as Falun Gong practitioners who have helped to rescue Lee.

The Final Victory of True Human Values
Jeffrey Shurtleff, a representative from Amnesty International, believes that Lee's regaining his freedom is a testament to adhering to noble true human values, the victory of true human rights, and the destined failure of any oppression and denial of human rights.
When Amnesty International was doing their best to rescue Lee, Shurtleff said he was hoping this day for the couple would be realized. Today, while celebrating Charles and Yeong-Ching's wedding, he hopes there will be freedom for all those who are still being persecuted in China today.
Charles is a Hero
G. Edward Griffin, Founder of Freedom Force International, praised Lee as a hero. He said Lee's courage deserves to be known and praised by all Americans. Griffin mentioned that in the final days of the Chinese Communist Party, the Chinese people should really think about the future of China and establish a society free of the communist regime and any autocratic oppression.

A Love Fortified by Suffering, Hardship, Blood and Tears
Chen Kai, a reporter of Radio Free Asia, expressed that this wedding was very precious. He said the couple's love has been built upon suffering, hardship, blood and tears. This marriage is a combination of loyalty to each other and firm belief in Falun Gong.
His present to the couple was a CD recording of over 20 reports during Charles imprisonment. Chen said he was very touched by the content while he was editing the CD. Chen said even though it was a bitter and tough time, from today it will be remembered as their strong and rock solid commitment to exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.

Justice Will Come Soon
Sherry Zhang, a Falun Gong practitioner from the Bay area, said the wedding reminded her of the days she traveled with the "SOS Car Tour" to rescue Lee. At that time, many practitioners like herself, joined the Tour and organized press conferences to gain help from citizens and officials to rescue Lee. Many Americans have shown their support and kindness.
Sherry believes that justice will soon arrive for the millions of persecuted Falun Gong practitioners.
