Auckland Audiences Delight at Spectacular Premiere

The global spectacular, 'Divine Performing Arts' held its first ever show in New Zealand this afternoon to an enthusiastic crowd at Auckland's 'The Civic' theatre.

Audiences applauded loudly throughout the show, with many expressing their amazement at the beautiful costumes, choreography, and also the principles expounded upon.

Estelle Cook, a composer and pianio teacher from Auckland said she was amazed by the show. "Very nice, lovely! Beautiful backdrop, very graceful dancing, and the thing I liked the most was the Chinese violin. My husband was a great violinist. I had never heard the Chinese violin, it's very different. Fascinating!"

She also picked out the performance "A Dunhuang dream" as a favourite. "The dancing was very, very good. Beautifully coordinated! I used to do ballet, it had a bit of ballet in it too. It was really nice. I really, really enjoyed it, I think it was great!"

Friends of Tibet New Zealand national chairman Thuten Kesang said he thought the show was very well done and very professional.

"I am really enjoying the spectacular costumes and especially the camera work on the background. I think it's wonderful."

"I only hope the whole of the Chinese nation could look at the spiritual of the divine production, the spiritual energy of it. Because true spiritual divine, as you can understand other peoples feelings, you can forgive and forget and live together as human beings. And I think through religion, through compassion - that's the only way you can gain that position," he said.

Richard Foran, a Kiwi from Auckland who attended the show with his Taiwanese wife, stated it was a "Great show. Beautiful!"

With regards to one of the principles expressed in the show about how good is met with a good future and bad deeds are likewise met with due retribution, Richard expressed "those are great principles to live your life by. I think that's something the human race should aspire to."

The second show of the one-day-only visit to New Zealand gets underway at 7:30pm.
