At both evening performances of New Tang Dynasty Television's 2007 Chinese New Year Spectacular at the ICC in Berlin, spectators gave excited and thoughtful feedback about the content and the presentation of the shows.

Werner Rohrsen and his wife traveled to the show from Rodenberg.

He said, "We were very surprised about the blaze of colors, the variety, and the dance performances. We are overwhelmed by the colorfulness, simply by the show."

"It is totally different for us," Mr. Rohrsen continued. "I do not know China at all. It is foreign to us. We are impressed. It is a interesting, a beautiful impression, which awakens an interest for wanting to see more."

The reporter asked Mrs. Rohrsen, "When the Buddhas appeared on the stage, did that touch you?"

She said, "I find it very comforting. I have already occupied myself with this subject, especially with Buddhas. There is truly something cross-cultural and it touched me."

Mr. Rohrsen added, "This Show is full of humaneness."

Dr. Wenderoth is from Harz and has a Chinese daughter-in-law. In 1956, he looked after Chinese students in Leipzig. Dr. Wenderoth has been traveling to China for decades and is said to be enamored with China.

"The show was of course great for ones eyes and ears, the wonderful costumes. The integration of the background with the huge screen was done brilliantly. They don't only show one picture, like in the Mongolian dance, the meadow. But in some of the dance scenes, they include the background. Like those two ladies who were levitating—she was taken into heaven and then she returns to the stage. That was excellently done."

Dr. Wenderoth added, "It is outstanding that this is also performed in Berlin for such a huge audience. It is very good to project the text in the German language onto the screen, for those who do not understand Chinese."

"How do you feel about the artistic quality?" the reporter asked.

"It is good, everything is perfect. I know Chinese people since umpteen years, everything is perfect," he answered. Verena Zillmann from Berlin said, "It was impressive. This synchronized dancing, a mastery of the body, which was fantastic, really absolutely awesome. For me, the artistic work is more in the foreground."

A lady from Berlin had tears in her eyes when she said, "I am delighted. Originally, I did not even want to come here. But I am very impressed by the performances, the colors, the movements. It has truly touched me."

The reporter commented, "[The show] is about stories from traditional Chinese culture, Buddhist stories, legends from ancient times...."

The women said, "One should occupy oneself more with this [topic]. Now, it is still superficial for me. One should look into it more deeply. There was also a Chinese lady sitting next to me. She has been watching the performances everywhere. She also attended the shows in New York and Paris. It was just natural that I was able to talk to her. I also was truly touched about that."

The Epoch Times is proud to join with New Tang Dynasty T.V. and Sound of Hope Radio in co-sponsoring NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular . This article is one of a series meant to introduce this unique and important event.
