TOKYO—NTDTV's Chinese New Year Spectacular in Tokyo, featuring the Divine Performing Arts Troupe on March 14, touched the hearts of the Japanese and Chinese audience alike. The elderly Chinese gentleman Lu Zhifan, originally from China's Henan Province, could not speak highly enough of the show. He didn't hesitate to donate 50,000 Japanese yen to NTDTV for the Chinese New Year Spectacular.
It took Mr. Lu nearly two hours by car to travel to Tokyo for the matinee premier on March 14. Mr. Lu said, "To see is to believe. New Tang Dynasty Television's name is so well known that it is as if the world has finally been blessed! It is a true masterpiece. I hope that the NTDTV Chinese New Year Spectacular will soon be played in China." He begged NTDTV to launch the Spectacular in China as soon as possible. "In other words, I hope the Chinese Communist Party will collapse as soon as possible so that authentic Chinese culture will be restored," he added.
Mr. Lu, 80-years old, shared that his favorite stories were "The Loyalty of Yue Fei" and "Mulan" because people were finally exposed to historically accurate stories from China's past. "'Creation' tells that divine beings came to earth to create the Chinese culture. Without doubt, it is very touching. The message is very clear," he said. "I have been studying Yi-Ching and I have always believed in the existence of divine beings."
"To the Rightful Place" made Mr. Lu very sad, because the Chinese Communist Party has slaughtered countless Chinese people and now it is killing Falun Gong practitioners. When asked how he felt about the program, Mr. Lu choked up in tears. "Too many Chinese people have been killed. They are my fellow countrymen. It breaks my heart to think of it."
After the show was over, Mr. Lu showered all he had seen with praises and donated 50,000 Japanese yen. He also gave another 10,000 yen to NTDTV staff to buy flowers for the artists.
Mr. Lu fled from China to Taiwan in 1948 with the Kuomingtang (the Nationalist Party.) Then he moved to Japan about 40 years ago. He has been leading a simple life. Although he is away from his homeland, he has not forgotten his homeland for a single day. "For the past few decades, I have kept information about all the major incidents and political movements in China," said Mr. Lu. "The only wish I hold in my heart since I have left China is to see the Chinese Communist Party's collapse. I feel that my wish is becoming true.
"When the Chinese Communist Party collapses, I will donate one million yen."
