On Dec. 18, New York Assemblyman Mr. Michael Benjamin reportedly received a faxed letter of intimidation from the Chinese Consulate. In the letter, the Chinese government once again used its common tactic to vilify and attack Falun Gong and to threaten the assemblyman with unnamed negative ramifications on China-U.S. relations.
The letter urges the assemblyman not to support, in any form, NTDTV's Holiday Wonders and the Chinese New Year Spectacular Shows. Mr. Benjamin publicized the letter.
After reading the letter online, it clearly demonstrates the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is once again engaging in an anti-Chinese movement using the Chinese Consulate General. It opposes its own people and their heritage. (A Florida mayor received a similar letter. )
In August, the CCP had issued a document in an attempt to interfere with New Tang Dynasty Television's (NTDTV) "series of global cultural competitions (singing, dance, etc.)" At that time, I concluded that every time NTDTV plans an event, the CCP will try to interfere.
The interference follows a pattern and the number one element of the pattern is that the interference is foreseeable. There are also four other elements in their tactics. They include a delayed response, anonymity, a slanderous nature, and it is unable to obtain the intended results.
The letter from the Chinese Consulate helps to confirm the five elements of the interference. The most interesting outcome would be that of being unable to obtain the intended results when the councilman's wife indicated that the letter prompted her to go to the show instead of what was planned earlier—to only attend the Holiday Wonder's reception.
The most incredible verification is that of anonymity. Logically, an official letter would appear on the consulate's letterhead, a dignified State's Consulate communication should be followed with the signature of the consul general or the secretary to claim responsibility for the letter's content. The faxed letter shows nothing but the inscription "Consulate General."
I suppose the drafter is aware of the rumors and defamation against Falun Gong and that a possible lawsuit might be filed by Falun Gong practitioners, where the letter could well become a piece of evidence in court. Therefore, the letter is simply inscribed with the heading "Consulate General" to avoid legal responsibility.
The defamation of Falun Gong and the NTDTV shows has all been refuted relentlessly. I don't intend to repeat the argument, but will point out the fact that both the Holiday Wonders and Chinese New Year Spectacular shows have greatly elevated the international status of the Chinese people. They have further improved the image of the Chinese among political leaders in the world.
The CCP's interference is a shame to the Chinese and a hindrance to NTDTV's effort to restore Chinese culture. The CCP's interference confirms it is the genuine anti-Chinese cult.
Take the Holiday Wonders performance in Baltimore for example. The Divine Performing Arts and the producers of the Holiday Wonders received more than 10 honorary praises and congratulatory messages from both Maryland senators and representatives. On the occasion of the opening of Holiday Wonders performances at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore, Maryland, Governor Martin O'Malley issued a Governor's Citation in appreciation of the Divine Performing Arts and the Holiday Wonders. Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon even designated the performance date, December 18, as Holiday Wonders Day and encouraged all citizens to celebrate.
The Chinese Communist Party devastated Chinese culture during the "Cultural Revolution." Traditional Chinese culture is finally regaining its renaissance through the efforts of the Divine Performing Arts group, which is reinstating its ancient charisma from the Tang and Han Dynasties to the world stage.
The CCP, on the contrary, has defamed itself with its crimes against humanity, corruption, abuses of human rights, destruction of its environment and ecology, and the export of toxic food and products. This has caused even those who regard the CCP as the Chinese to look down on the Chinese.
The performances by the Divine Performing Arts displays the inherited Chinese morality, courage, dignity, as well as its great artistic achievements, in place of the images the CCP has forced upon the Chinese, that of being weak, obscene, selfish, arrogant, rude, and ignorant of life in the name of obtaining fortune.
The Divine Performing Arts have awakened the morality of the Chinese people and rejuvenated the traditional Chinese culture. Undoubtedly, this awakening is clearing away the "Party Culture" which the CCP has relied on to control the Chinese people. It revives the Chinese with freedom, human rights and dignity.
This is the reason why the CCP relentlessly attempts to interfere with the efforts of the Divine Performing Arts. It is also another anti-Chinese response by the CCP.
