Tanya Memme, the Canadian host of the Emmy nominated hit show "Sell This House" has some suggestions for the owners of the unsellable home. On her show, now in its fifth season, Tanya and her co-host, Roger Hazard, renovate homes to get them ready to be sold quickly. They are able to take these homes that have been simply sitting on the market and give them a facelift, resulting in buyers coming home upon walking through the door.

The daughter of a family that owns an award winning housing company, Mountain View Homes, which puts out 200 to 400 homes a year, many of which are custom built, Tanya has an abundance of experience with what buyers are looking for. If you're having trouble finding a buyer for your home, you may want to read through Tanya's tips carefully:

* Clean out junk, clutter and mess
* Use fresh neutral paint colors - these attract buyers more readily
* Lighten and brighten. Open shades or drapes. Use heavier wattage bulbs.
* Make bathrooms and kitchens white glove clean. Get rid of the rubber duckies!
* Box up things that are too personally you—the Elvis on black velvet, the school photos, the neon beer sign.
* Dated wallpaper has to go—paint over it if need be.
* Accessorize kitchens with fruits and vegetables.
* Rearrange the furniture.
* Break up mirrored walls with moldings.
* Highlight the house's best assets, particularly architectural details.
* Stage the home so prospective buyers can envision themselves living in the space and fitting in their own furniture.
