NEW YORK- New Tang Dynasty's first International Chinese Vocal Competition preliminaries ended today, with the winners proceeding into the public semi-final and final rounds to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. The preliminaries featured over 100 Chinese vocalists from all around the world, including singers from as far away as China, Taiwan, Norway and Singapore.
Mr. Yajun Wang, who came from Norway to participate in the show, had heard about the vocal competition from following the NTDTV dance competition. "The vocal competition is very meaningful," Mr. Wang said. "The Chinese Communist Party destroyed Chinese culture, and morality in China slid down after that. It has destroyed the foundations of the nation and the whole world."

Mr. Wang added that "The vocal competition resumes true Chinese culture. It is very important for Chinese people."
CCP Tries to Stop Competitors
The Chinese Communist Party tried to stop several singers, especially those in China from joining NTDTV's vocal competition.
Ms. Carrie Huang, spokesperson for NTDTV, said: "The vocal competition will promote Chinese traditional arts. Such a good thing is being interfered with in China. The CCP tried to interfere with the International Chinese Dance Competition [recently held by NTDTV], and ordered its own media to attack it. After all their tricks failed, they ordered their police force to prevent artists from entering the competition."
Ms. Huang pointed out, "The CCP's evil and violent philosophy is against real traditional Chinese culture. This is the fundamental reason that the CCP tries to use all means to interfere with the competition."
"True, Benevolent and Beautiful"
Mr. Wang participated in the folk singing section of the vocal competition, where he sang "I Hope to See My Teacher Smile." He said that the vocal competition "provides a positive effect. It's true, beautiful, and benevolent. It can purify people's hearts." NTDTV's vocal competition featured male and female singers in two groups, Bel Canto and Chinese folk singing. The singers had a choice of singing to live musical accompaniment on the piano, or to CD music. One contestant brought and played his own guzheng (a traditional Chinese instrument similar to the zither) while singing.

NTDTV's International Vocal Competition continues tomorrow with the semi-finals and concludes on Wednesday with finals followed by an awards ceremony and a Spectacular performance.
